About Me​

I first became interested in Korea back in high school, where I studied Chinese for four years and started learning more about Asian cultures. In 2013, I had the chance to visit Korea for the first time, and I was immediately hooked—the language, the food, the culture—it all felt exciting and new. I ended up living there for two years, and even though I struggled a lot at first, I was determined to learn Korean. Those early experiences of confusion, discovery, and connection shaped how I approach language learning to this day.
After returning to the U.S., I continued studying Korean and eventually started tutoring online. I’ve now spent over a decade learning the language and thousands of hours helping students around the world speak with confidence. As someone who didn’t grow up bilingual, I understand how frustrating it can be to hit a wall or feel like you’re not making progress. That’s why I focus on practical, natural Korean that you can actually use—and I make sure lessons are always relaxed, encouraging, and even fun.
